Every year since his undergrad days JWM’s hosted a holiday party he calls The George Bailey, an evening get-together featuring one of his favorite movies, ginger snaps, and some really spectacular eggnog. It’s a tradition I was happy to adopt by marriage, but it wasn’t until Clarence won his wings last Christmas that I realized It’s A Wonderful Life could be so easily adapted to the Halloween season, too — and why has this never been done before?! In costume terms it was easy-peasy, and bonus! that enormous bathrobe is extra cozy-warm.
